East River Mixed-Use Development Wins Another Headquarters Deal

(HOUSTON, TX) –Midway’s East River today announced a significant new office lease agreement with Orion Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ORN). The Houston-based leader in marine and onshore specialty construction services will establish its new 63,519 square-foot global headquarters across three full floors in Buildings 1 and 2.

Serving the infrastructure, industrial and building sectors, Orion Group Holdings, Inc. provides specialty construction services both on and off the water in the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and the Caribbean Basin through its marine segment and its concrete segment. The company’s new EastRiver headquarters will feature flexible workspaces, advanced technology infrastructure, and access to East River’s vibrant retail, dining, and recreational amenities, as well as the Buffalo Bayou trail system, with future water taxi services enhancing connectivity.

Construction on East River’s first phase is complete, and several office tenants have moved into their new spaces including Impact Networking, Method Architecture, TEAL and Suderman & Young. OJB Landscape Architecture has moved into their new building, one of the first “Studios” for-sale office buildings, and The Laura multifamily community has welcomed its first tenants. A host of retail, dining and entertainment establishments are set to open this fall, further enhancing the live-work-play environment. Confirmed tenants include City Cellars HTX, CoolxDad, Kyuramen, La Calle Tacos & Cantina, Lick Honest Ice Creams, Tomi Jewelry,URBN Dental, EADO Eye Studio, Houston Maritime Center + Museum, Le Tesserae by The Astorian, and Champions Mortgage.  Midway is developing a new headquarters for Port Houston within East River’s first phase and Anton Paar USA has purchased a prime tract within the mixed-use development where it plans to construct its new South Region headquarters.

 

Orion is taking the last remaining full office floors at East River, marking a 95% leased milestone in the development's office leasing progress. Currently, available office spaces include several spec suites, two 10,000 square-foot Studios for sale, and a 135,000 square-foot build-to-suit opportunity. Land sites are also available for additional uses.
