Overview
Parkway
Properties property management training program, or as it's
affectionaly known as "Boot Camp", introduces and educates
professionals on the commercial real estate industry and prepares
professionals for management roles within Parkway Properties. Boot
Camp can last as short as 6 months or as long as 24 months.
During that time, the employee is exposed to all of the activities
involved in managing and leasing an office property. During the
Boot Camp experience, employees will receive hands-on training,
learning how to manage and operate office buildings with an
emphasis on customer service. Parkway prides itself on training and
equipping individuals to provide the highest level of service
available in the commercial real estate industry.
Boot Camp employees will learn directly from experienced
Property Managers and leasing teams to become proficient with
leasing techniques, transaction skills, and Parkway's Standard
Operating Procedures. The program also allows the Boot Camper to
spend time with Building Engineers to learn the importance and
function of building systems, Property Administrators to learn
customer service approaches, and Property Accountants to learn
basic real estate accounting procedures. Boot Camp "graduates"
matriculate to one of Parkway's markets to manage and lease one of
our office properties.
A "Boot Camper" may begin the program by working at Parkway's
Corporate office familiarizing themselves with various
departments. Candidates may be asked to complete projects for
Parkway's Executive Officers. Sample projects may
include: investment analysis, financial analysis,
underwriting and valuing properties, leasing and marketing
assistance, drafting and analyzing property budgets, NAV
calculations, researching and evaluating the performance of other
REITs or assisting Parkway's Customer Advocates.
Requirements:
Parkway prefers, but does not require, candidates with a
Business, Real Estate, Finance or Accounting degree.
Candidates must possess excellent leadership, customer service and
computer skills. Candidates must also be willing to relocate
to another Parkway market after training is completed.
